The 2020-25 Mount Isa Tourism Development Strategy lays out a clear way forward for a major modernisation of, and boost to, Mount Isa as a tourism destination.
Developed with the assistance of more than 100 local stakeholders, including Commerce North West, the Mount Isa Tourism Association, business owners and community members, the Strategy provides a strategic direction for Council, tourism industry stakeholders, businesses and the local community to plan for the sustainable development and marketing of Mount Isa as a tourism destination over the next five years.
It follows thorough and comprehensive consultation with local tourism representatives, experts and stakeholders and includes practical, actionable ideas that can be made a reality through a collaborative, cooperative approach.
