ATTENTION: POTENTIAL OWNERS OF LIVESTOCK LOCATED AT MOUNT ISA CATTLE YARDS
Notice is hereby given that, under the Part 4, Division 1 of Mount Isa City Council’s Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management)
21 Seizure of animals
(1) An authorised person may seize an animal, other than a dog, in the following circumstances:
(a) the animal is found wandering at large.
The livestock have been removed from roads and the Town Common in the Camooweal area and have been detained by Mount Isa City Council until further notice.
The stock (unless owners claim possession) will be offered for sale in accordance with Mount Isa City Council Local Law No.2 (Animal Management) 2018, Part 4, 17 Animals that may be disposed of without auctioneer tender Authorising Local Law, s32(1)(b) by the Mount Isa City Council.
Proof of ownership will be required (brands, ear tags etc). Local Laws Officers will be working with Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and the welfare of these animals is the priority. Impounding fees and associated costs must be paid before release.
