Outback Café at Outback at Isa is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team full-time. We are looking for a creative and motivated professional who thrives in a busy kitchen environment and is committed to delivering high-quality dishes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys menu innovation, values fresh ingredients, and takes pride in presentation and consistency. Experience in catering is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Service
• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and organisational standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation of all dishes.
• Maintain high standards of quality control across all food produced.
• Assist in catering preparation and service when required.
Menu Development
• Contribute to the design and development of new menu items.
• Develop and standardise recipes in collaboration with management.
• Incorporate a variety of cuisines, including Western and Asian dishes.
• Ensure menus reflect seasonal availability and cost control considerations.
Kitchen Operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering of ingredients and supplies.
• Minimise food waste and manage stock rotation in accordance with best practice.
• Support efficient workflow during busy service periods.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Maintain appropriate food handling, storage, and temperature controls.
• Participate in workplace safety procedures and reporting requirements.
