Books and Audiovisuals

Mount Isa City Library offers different genres of books for book lovers, from crime, thriller, graphic novels, and non-fiction to picture books and for adults, teenagers, and little ones.

The Library also provides Large Prints, Audiobooks, and Languages other than English to meet different needs.

Audiovisual items like blockbuster movies, popular TV dramas, cartoons, documentaries, and music CDs are also available in the library.

Digital Collection

Mount Isa City Library offers its members a wealth of digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, Graphic Novels, Magazines, Movies, and Storybooks, as well as LOTE resources.

Local Studies Collection

Mount Isa City Library features a dedicated room filled with vintage photographs, documents, local newspapers, and books that focus on Mount Isa. This is the ideal destination for those interested in researching local and family history. Booking is required.

Toys

Mount Isa City Library offers an extensive selection of over 1,000 toys available for loan across various categories, such as literacy, numeracy, coordination, jigsaw puzzles, large toys, games, and enriched activity materials. Adult members can borrow up to three toys at a time for a maximum period of two weeks. Find out more information about borrowing toys here.

Languages other than English

 

Books and audio resources are available in languages other than English for all patrons to borrow. If the Library does not currently hold the language you require, a selection can be obtained for you.
