- (a) means the use of premises for the generation of electricity or energy from a renewable energy, including, for example, source (sources of bio-energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, ocean energy, solar energy or wind energy; but
- (b) does not include the use of premises to generate electricity or energy that is to be used mainly on the premises.
Examples:
solar farm, wind farm, tidal power, hydroelectric power, geothermal power
Excludes:
wind turbine or solar panels supplying energy to domestic or rural activities on the same site
