Council is encouraging local residents who have an interest in the future of Mount Isa’s premier tourist attraction, Outback at Isa, to attend a community consultation session to provide their input and ideas.

The session will be held at Outback at Isa on Wednesday, December 9 from 6pm to 7.30pm, and headed by representatives of Stafford Strategy, the specialist consultants Council has engaged to develop an Outback at Isa Master Plan.

Session attendees will get a chance to provide their comments and feedback to the consultants about what they think of Outback at Isa, discuss any challenges it’s facing, what they would like to see done to the facility to enhance it, as well as hear more about the Master Plan process.

The Master Plan will deliver a coordinated approach for the long-term future development of the tourist attraction.

It aims to identify opportunities to enhance the Outback at Isa’s long-term viability, aesthetics, amenities and accessibility, as well as achieve high-quality tourism outcomes and business performance.

As part of the Master Plan development process, Stafford Strategy representatives will visit Outback at Isa next month to carry out further analysis of the facility.

The community consultation session will be a ticketed event for contact-tracing purposes. Numbers are limited.
