Public Notice: Gallipoli Park Pump Track and Redevelopment Project

Gallipoli Park letter

Published: 2nd August 2021

Council are excited to progress the Active Community Infrastructure project, Gallipoli Park Pump Track and Redevelopment Project.

Council hopes you’ll enjoy seeing your local park evolve into a multi-use outdoor space where people can meet, exercise and enjoy a BBQ whilst the big kids (and little kids) ride the new pump track and pedal park!

During the following few weeks, Council’s appointed project contractor, Transcape Constructions, will have their site investigations taking place which includes the following: site fencing, survey/set out, delivery of site container, ablution blocks, plant/machinery and site utility connection works.

It’s important to Council to keep residents and visitors safe from construction activities, therefore the site will be surrounded by a construction fence, with no unauthorised access permitted to the construction the project site.

Protection of environment, workers, and the public in accordance with the project integrated management plan is Council’s highest priority. Council asks for your consideration, awareness and patience with the construction activities and presence of plant and machinery when travelling along Salamaua and Tarakan Streets for the duration of the project.

Site establishment will take place at Gallipoli Park South from the week commencing 2 August 2021 with anticipated project completion by the end of November 2021.

The initial tasks include establishment of a new sewer and water connection, causing a temporary traffic diversion along Salamaua Street, commencing 3 August 2021.

Daily start and finish times will be in line with Council Guidelines and contract conditions.

You’ll notice many local subcontractors and businesses involved in aspects of the work and whilst you will initially notice the sound of bobcats/excavators and trucks, the project also entails a large amount of reduced-noise tasks, such as landscaping, planting and installation of park equipment.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding the contract works, please don’t hesitate to contact Mount Isa City Council on 4747 3200 or email city@mountisa.qld.gov.au.

Regular project updates will appear on Council's website and the Council Facebook page.
