Little Red Flying Fox Camp Management Plan
The Little Red Flying Fox Camp Management Plan (the Plan) has been developed in response to the presence of a large camp of little red flying foxes within the Mount Isa.
The Plan provides advice, planning and methods for Council to manage the flying fox camp.
It also includes the results of habitat suitability modelling undertaken for the region which identified potential alternative roosting sites. The Plan has guided the development of an Alternative Flying Fox Roost Site which is currently being developed.
Implementing these management strategies will allow Council to minimise impacts to the community, while conserving flying foxes and their habitat.
