Tourism Networking Launch in Mount Isa
Published on 26 May 2025
Mount Isa City Council is inviting local tourism operators, community leaders, and regional stakeholders to come together for a vibrant Tourism Networking Launch on Wednesday, June 4, celebrating the strength and future of Outback tourism.
To be held at the Mount Isa Civic Centre from 6pm to 8pm, the event will highlight local tourism initiatives, promote regional collaboration, and share exciting new opportunities for the visitor economy.
Supported through the Tourism Recovery and Resilience Program (TRRP) – jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) – the evening will also launch Mount Isa’s new grant access portal, a central tool to help businesses access disaster recovery and tourism development funding.
Connect with industry leaders, celebrate our region’s unique stories, and explore new opportunities as we launch a bold new season for Outback tourism.
The evening will showcase recovery milestones, highlight regional collaborations, and shine a spotlight on projects that strengthen tourism resilience across Mount Isa, Cloncurry, and the broader region.
“This is a chance to celebrate the incredible work happening across our region,” says Michelle Cyster, Tourism Recovery and Resilience Officer for Mount Isa City Council and Cloncurry Shire Council.
“It’s also about strengthening connections and looking ahead together.”
The evening will include canapés, drinks, and presentations featuring projects such as the Cloncurry–Camooweal Drive and proposed walking trails connecting Mount Isa and Cloncurry.
All tourism operators, businesses, and supporters are welcome.
RSVP via Eventbrite by Friday, May 30.
