The plan will address challenges posed by roosts in urban areas, balancing conservation with public safety, health, and amenity.

Mount Isa City Council acknowledge and appreciate the Queensland Government Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) for providing funds to initiate the Region wide Flying Fox Roost Management Plan Program. These funds are critical for supporting the community affected by flying-fox roosts in the region. This Strategy is being developed with the support of the Queensland Government Flying-Fox Roost Management Local Government Grant Program.
