Mount Isa City Council wishes to advise of upcoming infrastructure works occurring on the Mount Isa Reticulation Network, and the Town Low and High systems, as part of a water infrastructure improvement project.

The works are scheduled to commence on Tuesday 24 June 2025 at 6am and are expected to conclude by 6pm that night.

There will be minimal disruption to end-users, however, some change to pressure may occur during short windows at the commencement and completion of the works in two phases:

  •  Firstly, in the City Low System affecting the suburbs of Soldiers Hill, Ryan, Kalkadoon, Miles End, Menzies, Winston, Sunset, Pioneer, The Gap, Mount Isa City (CBD), Mornington, and Parkside;
  •  Then, in the City High System affecting the suburbs of Mornington (south of Rebecca Street), Townview, Parkside (south of Third Avenue), Happy Valley, Healy, Mica Creek, Breakaway, and Spreadborough.

The works are being undertaken with the support of the Mount Isa Water Board (as the supplier of bulk water to Mount Isa City Council), with the objective of ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of water supply infrastructure to residents and the community of Mount Isa.

Council would like to thank the community and residents for their understanding and cooperation as these critical works are undertaken.
