Speaking at April's Ordinary Meeting, where Council resolved to approve the above organisations to receive 2024-25 Round 2 Community Grants and Events Sponsorship, Councillor John Doyle said it was pleasing to see such a wide range of activities and events being sponsored and funded.

"It's really good to see so many different types of activities for people in our community to be involved in and to get around. It shows a lot of positivity going forward," Cr Doyle said.

Speaking in favour of the resolution, Councillor Dan Ballard said he was proud to be part of a Council that supports local community and sporting groups.

"These groups are undertaking a lot of voluntary work, eating into a limited amount of their own time, and they really contribute a lot to the social fabric of our community," Cr Ballard said.

"I think there are a lot of really worthy recipients of support there, and I'd like to wish them all the very best for their events."
