Mount Isa City Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for Installation of upgrades to the fire services for the Buchanan Park Events Complex (BPEC).
Opened in 2008, Mount Isa City Council (MICC) operates the Buchanan Park Events Complex
(BPEC) – a landmark events venue and home to the iconic Mount Isa Rodeo.
Council requires the Contractor to construct the fire services upgrades in accordance with the principal-supplied design documentation to improve system performance and achieve compliance with current firefighting requirements.
2. SCOPE OVERVIEW
Work areas / sites
The Works comprise upgrades to the Buchanan Park Events Complex (BPEC) fire services within
the following precincts (as shown on the principal-issued drawings):
- Rodeo Grounds precinct
- Entertainment Precinct
- Associated fire service main connections and appurtenances within the broader Buchanan Park Complex.
It is a requirement of this project that any persons contracted to undertake the building work be accredited under the Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme, established by the Federal Safety Commissioner Act 2022 (Cth), at the time of entering into the contract for the building work and maintains accreditation while the building work is being carried out.
The Works shall be constructed in accordance with the principal-issued design documentation
and applicable Australian Standards referenced therein (including AS 2419, AS 3500 and AS
2941, current editions), and any other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

The Principal reserves the right to invite all tenderers to change their tenders to take account of a change in the tender specification.
