INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
2627_025 EOI Resource recoverable materials
Mount Isa City Council (Council) operates waste management and resource recovery facilities that regularly receive recoverable materials from residential, commercial and operational waste streams.
Council is seeking Expression of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to purchase, collect, transport, process, recycle and/or beneficially reuse recovered materials generated through its waste management operations.
This engagement supports Council's objectives to
- Maximise diversion of recoverable materials from landfill.
- Improve resource recovery and recycling outcomes.
- Develop sustainable end-market pathways.
- Ensure environmentally responsible management of recovered materials.
- Generate commercial value from recoverable resources.
- Support local and regional circular economy initiatives.
The recovered materials covered by this opportunity are:
- Scrap Steel and Ferrous Metals
- Lead-Acid Batteries
- Electronic Waste (E-Waste)
Materials are currently located at Council’s Waste Management Facility, 150 Jessop Drive, Mount Isa, Queensland.
Successful suppliers may be engaged through material purchase agreements, collection services, revenue-sharing arrangements, scheduled collection programs or longer-term resource recovery partnerships.
Council is open to accepting submissions for each category, i.e. one supplier doesn’t have to take all 3 categories of recovered materials.

Expressions of interest must be lodged at www.vendorpanel.com.au by 3.00pm on the 24th August 2026.
