Mount Isa City Council is requesting tenders from a suitably qualified and experienced contractor (commercial kitchen installer) to undertake commercial kitchen works within the following Council-owned events venues:
- Civic Centre Kitchen (Stage 1 Upgrade):
The contract 2025-11 will deliver Stage 1 of the Civic Centre kitchen master plan. The works will involve building works, removal of outdated fittings and equipment, supply and installation of new fittings and kitchen equipment, and modifications to ancillary services (plumbing, electricity and gas) to support the new kitchen.
- Buchanan Park Events Complex Kitchen (Design and Installation):
The Buchanan Park Events Complex (BPEC) is a major public events venue completed in 2008, with a capacity for over 1000 people. It is the home of the famous Mount Isa Rodeo, the largest rodeo event in the Southern Hemisphere. The BPEC does not currently possess commercial kitchen facilities; catering is prepared offsite and delivered to the venue during events. Adjacent to the BPEC pavilion, a row of ATCO demountable buildings serves as amenities buildings. Council has earmarked two demountable buildings (Building D and Building E) for conversion into a commercial kitchen.

Council reserves the right to invite all tenderers to change their tenders to take account of a change in the tender specification.
