Pensioners Pensioners

Council provides pensioners with a concession on General Rates and Utility Charges equal to  20% of the amount levied to a maximum of $200.00 plus an additional $80.00. No Council concession is provided on the State Fire Services

Eligibility is based on meeting the requirements under the Queensland State Government Pensioner Rate Subsidy Scheme.

Under no circumstances is an approved pensioner to receive a subsidy for more than one property, designated as his/her principal place of residence, in the same rates period. This applies within or outside of Queensland.

Eligible pensioners will be required to complete an Application for Rates Pensioner Concession form  to initially apply for the rebate and each year council will verify their entitlement with the relevant Government Department. Fresh applications will only be required if the pensioner status is not confirmed by the department.
