Camooweal Boil Water Advisory Notice Lifted

Boil Water Notice Lifted

Published: 19th March 2024

Council wishes to advise that, following repairs to the chlorinator at Camooweal, the town's water is being effectively disinfected and is again safe to drink, as of Wednesday 13 March 2024.

The chlorinator was repaired earlier this month. Testing has confirmed the absence of E. coli or any other microorganisms.

Routine testing has confirmed that chlorine levels are now stable throughout the Camooweal reticulation.

Consequently, the Townsville Public Health Unit has approved the lifting of the Boil Water Advisory Notice.

Residents can use the water directly from the tap, with no special precautions required.
