The draft Mount Isa CBD Masterplan is now available for public consultation. Members of the public are encouraged to provide their feedback to help refine the document.

The final draft will be presented to Council in the coming months.

The public consultation period will run from Monday, February 21, to Monday, March 7, 2022.

The draft masterplan focuses on actions that encourage further beneficial economic activity and investment opportunities for the CBD.

It encourages the diversification of land uses, so that the CBD can thrive as a vibrant and attractive centre, and focuses on enhancing connections to and within the CBD.

Feedback from stakeholder meetings last year identified a number of priorities for the CBD, including night-time activation; safety and security; a focus on precincts; a pedestrian-friendly CBD; active street frontages; cooling and planting opportunities; connections between West Street, Miles Street and Coles; and appropriate landscaping.
