2016 Sportstar Awards

The Sportstar awards are now open for nominations!

The inaugural Sportstar Awards were held in 1991, to celebrate the sporting performances of 1990 for junior and senior athletes. The aim of the awards was to recognise the efforts of the best sports people in North Queensland and to encourage them to go onto greater heights.

Nominations are open in the following categories:

Junior

Senior

Athlete with a Disability

Service to Sport

 

Get Playing Plus

The Get Playing Plus program will provide funding for developing new and upgrading existing infrastructure that demonstrate a strong ability to increase participation opportunities, meet service gaps in existing infrastructure and address regional needs.

Australian Sports Commission - Local Sporting Champions

The Local Sporting Champions program is designed to support young people participating in state, national and international level sporting championships as either an athlete, coach or official.
