Parks

The Mount Isa City Council maintains over twenty parks within the City of Mount Isa.
Persons or organisations wishing to use any of Council's parks to stage events or activities must make a written application to Council.

The letter should state what activities are planned and, to avoid damage to any in ground irrigation systems or underground services, if any equipment needs to be anchored to the ground using pickets or poles.

Current parks available provided with children’s play equipment are:

  • Playway Park
  • Gallipoli Park
  • Charlie Steene Park
  • Minnie Davis Park
  • Apex Park - Townview
  • Warrina Park - Lake Moondarra

 

Free Shrub Service

The Mount Isa City Council will provide, free of charge, three (3) small shrubs (native species under 6m in height) of the same variety, from the Council's Nursery, to householders for planting on footpaths.

Residents with corner blocks, are entitled five (5) plants to be planted along both footpaths.
The planting and maintenece of these shrubs is the responsibility of the property owner and it is advised that the location of underground services be determined prior to digging.
Shrubs are available from 1 March until 30 September every year.

To apply, the Shrubs for Foothpaths Application Form must be lodged at Council's Administration Office located at 23 West Street.
