NAIDOC - Isaiah Firebrace "Beyond Workshop and Concert" NAIDOC - Isaiah Firebrace "Beyond Workshop and Concert"

Mount Isa City Council and Gidgee Healing are proud to bring Australian Popstar Isaiah Firebrace to Mount Isa during NAIDOC Week 2019 to host a free "Beyond Workshop and Concert".

The workshop will take place at 3.30pm - 5.30pm on Tuesday 9th July at the Civic Centre. All youth aged 12+ are encouraged to attend. Please see the registration button below.

The free concert will take place at 6.30pm - 8.30pm on Tuesday 9th July at the Civic Centre. Everyone is encouraged to attend the concert.

Free transport will be provided to the concert, thanks to Young People Ahead, with a bus to take kids to the Civic Centre. (Please note: Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to board the bus.)

Pick-ups times and locations:

5.30pm: Captain Cook Park (corner of Twenty-Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue)

5.35pm: Duchess Road (opposite Thompson Road)

5.40pm: Leichhardt Accommodation (Camooweal Street)

5.50pm: Mount Isa Tenpin (corner of George Street and Kaeser Road)

5.55pm: Sunset State School (Abel Smith Parade)

6.00pm: Turanga Shopping Centre (East Street)

6.05pm: Civic Centre (West Street)

Concert attendees will be able to enjoy a free sausage sizzle, thanks to Rotary, and sno-cones will be available. There will be information stalls from Gidgee Healing, Young People Ahead and Headspace Mount Isa.

There will also be a smoking ceremony conducted by local Indigenous representatives Grant and Benton Nemo, as well as a Welcome to Country.



FREE Isaiah Firebrace "Beyond Workshop"

This “NO SHAME!” free workshop will get you thinking about new pathways to reach your dreams and move beyond the challenges. Isaiah will share his story, of how he has overcome obstacles and the positive steps he has taken to achieve success.

Suitable for youth 12 and over, workshop participants receive a mentoring session along with the chance to participate in the opening of the Isaiah Live concert which will be starting at 6:30pm. The workshop will be held at the Civic Centre starting at 3.30pm and finish at 5.30pm.
