Mount Isa City Council is hosting a series of workshops for local contractors and business operators on Tuesday 27 August and Wednesday 28 August to learn about upcoming opportunities to work with Council, how to get involved, and to register your services on our supplier lists.


Mount Isa City Council’s 2019/20 Budget includes an impressive range of important projects within the $32 million capital works and $56 million operational schedules for the year ahead.


While Council purchases the majority of its goods and services locally, we are always working to do more to support local businesses and provide better support for locals, including the development of first ever Mount Isa Local Purchasing Preference Policy.


Both current and interested contractors and suppliers are encouraged to attend to learn more about upcoming infrastructure projects, expected timeframes, Council’s procurement processes, and what you need to do to apply.


Council officers and managers will be available to provide a handy overview of the current procurement process, including recent updates, and to respond to any questions.


 These workshops are a new initiative designed to help current and potential contractors engage more closely with key Council departments and make the contract tendering and application process smoother for all involved.

A free continental breakfast and coffee will be supplied at the morning session and tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided at the evening session.
