Special Collections
The Mount Isa City Library maintains a number of special collections to enable access by people with special needs.
LARGE PRINT BOOKS
A wide range of large print books are available for all patrons to borrow. These books have larger than normal typing, which makes them easier to read if you have eyesight problems. Westerns, romance, thrillers, bestsellers & biographies are accessible in larger print.
LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH
Book & audio resources are available in languages other than English for all patrons to borrow. If the Library does not currently hold the language you require, a selection can be obtained for you within 3 weeks.

ADULT LITERACY & NUMERACY
Literacy and numeracy readers and resources are available for all patrons to borrow. MICAL (Mount Isa Community Adult Literacy) also use these resources to tutor literacy learners at all levels.
HEAR-A-BOOKS
There is also a selection of hear-a-books which are books recorded solely for people with print disabilities. Your doctor or health care worker must provide medical confirmation of a visual disability before you may loan these books on cassette.
OTHER AUDIOBOOKS
Bestsellers, biographies & language instruction are also available on books read-aloud to cassette and compact disc. These items are available for all patrons to borrow.
