Success for Isa Street Festival 2016 - 12th August 2016
With an estimated 4000 visiting the Isa Street Festival on Wednesday night, Event organisers Mount Isa City Council were pleased to see community support for the event.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the event had been many months in planning, and she was delighted with the atmosphere and the crowd response.
“If the amount of people I saw with smiles on their faces, and even having a dance to the performers was anything to go by, then it certainly was a success,” Cr McCulloch said.
“Everyone was well catered for, the kids had plenty of free activities, and there was an excellent selection of food, entertainment, and market stalls.”
The event attracted more than 30 community food and merchandise stalls, numerous fundraisers and awareness stalls, and hundreds of community survey feedback forms were completed.
Cr McCulloch said plans would be set in place for next year’s Isa Street Festival to go ahead following the positive feedback from the event.
