Round 3 RADF Recipients

Mount Isa City Council was delighted to congratulate today’s recipients of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Round 3.

Mount Isa School of Dance was awarded $2734.10 for a ballet exam preparation workshop, where students will undertake intensive classes to each graded ballet level with the aim of being better prepared for upcoming ballet exams.

Drover’s Camp Assoc. Inc. received $2200 for a workshop titled Charlotte the Butterfly Harpist, an interactive harp workshop which includes how to hold the harp, playing the coloured strings and using it in storytelling.

Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the Mount Isa City Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) was an important way in which the council supported local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by the local community.

“Council continues to receive well developed and diverse applications for projects which will continue to strengthen the important arts and cultural fabric of our city,” Cr McCulloch said.

“From enjoying the work of local artists to participating in workshops and conferences, these projects offer a terrific chance for residents to learn more about our arts including  digital art, live performance, and writing.”
