Renew animal registration now and take advantage of discount period - 28th July 2016

Time is running out for Mount Isa pet owners to take advantage of the discount on animal registration renewal.

Mayor Joyce McCulloch said residents would save 50 per cent of the full cost of registration renewal if they paid prior to August 12.

“It makes financial sense for people to pay during the discount period,” she said.

“Registration assists in the speedy recovery of lost animals, and in reuniting them with their owners.

“In addition, registration fees help provide important pet related services within the city, such as animal control and community education about responsible pet ownership.”

Mount Isa animal registration fees include the supply of a Council identification marker, lost and found animal service - a guarantee that if your pet is found wearing the Council identification marker you will be notified, animal control service – response to problems including reports of dog attacks or complaints about animals wandering on private property, and public education programs regarding animal welfare.

All registration renewal forms have been sent out for the 2016/17 period. If you have not received one, please contact Council on 47473200.

Pet registration renewals can be made by phoning 47473200 or at Council’s Customer Service Centre at 23 West Street.
