NYE Family Night a Great Success
Mayor Joyce McCulloch says she is extremely happy with how Monday’s New Year’s Eve Family Night went, and that it was an incredibly well-received and popular community event.
The night was held indoors in the fully air-conditioned Buchanan Park Entertainment Centre and attended by more than 400 people of all ages.
“It was so great to see everyone from young families with babies, all the way up to our senior citizens, gather together in this wonderful venue at Buchanan Park, lay down their comfy picnic blankets and pillows, or set up their camping chairs, and relax with many other members of the community for our event,” Mayor Joyce McCulloch said.
“And our food stall operators reported very brisk trade – with some food items even selling out on the night – which is fantastic to hear, as it all goes to helping the fundraising efforts of local Rodeo Queen Quest entrants.
“The feedback we’ve been receiving from local residents since Monday night has been overwhelmingly positive.
“People have expressed how happy they were with how the night was run and organised, so we’ll definitely be taking these comments into consideration for any similar events we hold in the future.”
Cr McCulloch said although technical issues unfortunately delayed the fireworks display by about an hour, attendees noted that it was worth the wait.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to the Family Night for their support and feedback, and for making it such a great event for everyone involved,” Cr McCulloch said.
