Mount Isa Residents’ Feedback Sought for This Year’s Budget
With Council commencing the preparations for next year’s budget, Council has released an online survey seeking feedback from community on projects or initiatives that can help Mount Isa to grow, improve and prosper.
The survey asks respondents what they would like to see as Council’s top priority in the 2019-2020 financial year, as well as what Council services they value the most – such as arts and events, the library, parks and gardens, or sports and recreational facilities.
“We have always highly valued the helpful feedback we receive from community, as it assists us in guiding our decision-making process by informing us about what is really important for residents,” Cr McCulloch said.
“With the budget due to be adopted at the end of June, it’s timely that we hear from the community on what they would like us to prioritise in 2019-2020.
“Council are already considering a number of exciting projects and we will continue to seek State and Federal Government funding to reduce the impact on ratepayers. This feedback will help us understand the priorities in the short term.
“It could be improvements or upgrades to public facilities, modifications or upgrades to the road network, or the introduction of new services – whatever it is, we would love to hear about it.”
The survey can be accessed directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/G8Z25DR or through Council’s Facebook page.
The survey will remain open until the end of the month.
