Mayor's Christmas Fundraiser - 11th October 2016
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and Mayor Joyce McCulloch is planning festivities in order to bring some joy to those in need.
This year, the traditional Mayor’s Christmas event, the Mayoress Ball, will be replaced with an annual wine tree fundraiser, with all proceeds being donated to the Children’s Ward at the Mount Isa Base Hospital.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the money raised would go towards purchasing vital equipment including a new defibrillator, phototherapy blanket and compact LED system, bubble Cpap machine, and entertainment devices for the children.
“Providing the very best care for our children and their families during their treatment in hospital is extremely important,” Cr McCulloch said.
“With the support of the community, Council’s fundraising efforts will help our hospital to continue excellent services and provide hope for a happy and healthy future for our children.”
The Christmas Wine Tree Charity will be held on Saturday December 3.
Sponsorship packages are available in gold, silver, or wine appreciation levels, and are available by contacting council’s executive reception on 4747 3264.
