Free Microchipping Vouchers this Saturday - 18th July 2016
Mount Isa pet owners are reminded that free microchipping vouchers will be available this Saturday at Council’s Pet Information Day.
Anyone who comes along and registers their dog or cat – new registrations only - will receive a voucher for free microchipping at Mount Isa Veterinary Surgery.
If the animal is desexed, owners must provide certification of proof.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said she hoped lots of people would take up the fantastic offer, and register their new pet or a pet that had not been previously registered, and benefit from a free microchip.
“While it is important that an animal is registered, microchipping is so important for the safety of your pet, and the peace of mind that he will be traced back to you if your pet goes missing,” Cr McCulloch said.
All residents are encouraged to visit Pet Information Day this Saturday July 23 from 10am to 1pm, and tour the RSPCA Education Mobile Unit, enjoy a free jumping castle and petting zoo, support Paw Hoofs and Claws with a sausage sizzle and cupcake café, and grab some Council freebies.
Residents are asked to please leave their pets at home for this event, and come and support those who are supporting the city’s animals.
