Family Fun Precinct Gets Official Signage
Mount Isa’s premier recreational space has a new name, after signage was officially installed this week.
Family Fun Precinct is the home to Splashez Aquatic Centre, the Skate Park, and the Family Fun Park.
On Tuesday morning, December 18, a crane was used to lift and position the Family Fun Precinct sign into place over the two support structures at the entry to the side road between Splashez and the Skate Park.
The facilities and amenities at the Family Fun Precinct are many and varied.
The Skate Park is perfect for skateboarders, Razor scooter riders and rollerbladers of all ages and ability levels, with various banks, rails, hips and blocks.
Splashez is perfect for families looking for a cool dip on a hot day. There’s a 50m-long pool that’s often used for junior and senior swimming squads, swimming carnivals and learn-to-swim classes, as well as for leisurely dips, and a shaded kids’ wading pool that includes a cool fountain and rapid-river ride. There are also barbecue facilities and shaded seating areas that are perfect for birthday parties or picnics.
The Family Fun Park is the jewel in the crown of the Family Fun Precinct. With its own water park, as well as free barbecue facilities, a bike track, sensory garden, double flying fox, junior and senior children’s play areas, and soft-fall rubberised ground cover, it’s ideal for families and sure to keep everyone happy and entertained for hours on end.
