Les Bunn
Deputy Mayor
I am a full-time Councillor.
I married my wife Gwen in 1960, we have two kids and four grand-kids. My interests include: participating in community activities including Rugby, The Army Reserves and RSL, Vocational Education & Training, and Crime-free community promotion.
Born in Childers, I spent my early childhood in Ogmore and Rockhampton, then travelled throughout Australia and overseas before settling in the Isa for the past 30 years.
I wanted to become a councillor because of my interest in community service and to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of the community.
As Deputy Mayor my goals are, in partnership with the community, identify strategic end results that are owned and accepted by the community, assist in developing Council resource levels to ensure our strategic end results are achieved, promote openness, transparency and accountability, integrate community engagement principles with decision making and problem solving processes.
