Held every Wednesday evening of Rodeo Week, the Isa Street Festival is now in its fifth year, and will this year be held on Wednesday August 7.
One of the most popular additions over the years has been the headline act, with performers such as Jessica Mauboy and Isaiah Firebrace, and this year we are happy to announce Rai Thistlethwayte of Thirsty Merc fame, with his band.
Rai will bring his love of classic rock, pop and jazz to the Isa Street Festival, which will also feature local performers, food and market stalls, kids games and activities, licensed beergarden, with more special announcements to come.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the Isa Street Festival had grown in size and popularity over the past three years, and had become the Council’s feature event.
“We love that we can put on a free event for the community and add a special element to Rodeo Week in Mount Isa,” Cr McCulloch said.
“The positive feedback we have received over the years has been overwhelming, and now with the addition of the Isa Street Parade, it is truly a festival for the whole community to enjoy and celebrate.”
This year’s Isa Street Parade will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Riversleigh Fossil fields discovery with the theme “Living Fossils”.
Since 2017, Mount Isa City Council have introduced a street parade into the Isa Street Festival program.
We encourage all sectors of the community to enter the parade, and dress up your group, vehicle or yourself in the theme of the year, and let the community cheer you on!
This year, there is $4k in prize money to be won, with $1k awarded to best in category for each "School Entry", "Community Entry" "Business Entry" and "Best Themed Entry".
The theme of this year’s Street Parade will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Riversleigh Fossil fields discovery with the theme "Living Fossils".

There will also be a specially set-up photo booth for fans to have their photo taken with JT.
While no items will be signed, JT will try to meet as many fans as possible.
